Live Aid

Live Aid

Do you remember where you were on July 13, 1985?

I just found a whole bunch of videos of the enormous Live Aid concert on YouTube. Here is a sampling:

Bob Geldof

U2

The Who

INXS

Duran Duran

Sting

Phil Collins

Dire Straits

Eric Clapton

Neil Young

The Pretenders

Pink Floyd

Queen

Update: Temujin pointed out that the clip of Pink Floyd was from Live 8 rather than Live Aid. Well, I'm going to leave it in there anyhow, those guys rock.

Of course I remember Live Aid. And Queen, who went into the rehersal studios for weeks, preparing their 10-minute slot (as other bands cobbled together their slot,) and effectively relaunched their dying career. How great does a band have to be, to have the entire audience singing back to the stage at the control of Freddie Mercury? Ahh, great days, great bands...

That Pink Floyd clip is from the more recent "Live 8". Nonetheless, those are some great clips.
